Nebraska economic development officials recently awarded $505,000 in federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding to help the city of Chadron assist Your Selling Team of Ainsworth, Neb., in adding between 50 to 100 full-time technology marketing and service jobs, bolstering the labor force and economic vitality of the community that hosts Chadron State College.

An analyst has estimated that the project could spawn an additional 22 secondary jobs, as well as increasing regional labor income and impacting retail sales.

The City of Chadron will loan Your Selling Team $500,000 in grant funds to help build a new 10,000 square foot facility, purchase equipment, and use as working capital. The remaining $5,000 will be made available to the city for administrative expenses.

Originally part of Technologent, which is also located in Ainsworth, Neb., Your Selling Team was incorporated as its own entity in early 2005. Your Selling Team provides sales lead generation, inside sales, service and maintenance agreement renewals and other services to technology companies such as Sun Microsystems and NCR.

As Technologent has neared its capacity at the Ainsworth facility, the decision was made to expand into another community. The company was greatly impressed with Chadron and its available work force.

Employees are currently undergoing training at Chadron State College. Federal funds are made available to Nebraska from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The in-state portion of the CDBG program is administered by the Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED).
