Equipped with geographic information system (GIS) technology, OhioInSite.com allows users to identify the optimal location – down to a specific property – for any capital investment project in Ohio, according to the Ohio Business Development Coalition.
The Web site allows users to search for Ohio properties and companies, while leveraging a GIS interface and interactive mapping platform that supplies specific data on the surrounding location.
“OhioInSite.com will speed up and simplify the business attraction and the site selection processes for businesses and consultants by efficiently delivering answers to the critical location decision questions through a map-based and dynamic interface,” said Mark Barbash, interim director of the Ohio Department of Development. “By giving prospects the critical data needed to analyze potential capital investment locations all in one Web site, OhioInSite.com will generate more investment leads, and ultimately, more business development opportunities for Ohio.”
Ohio recently was awarded its third consecutive Governor’s Cup Award for leading the nation in new and expanded facilities and overall achievements in economic investments in 2008.
“The state’s three consecutive Governor’s Cup awards, along with the state’s recent tax reform, are evidence that our economic development strategies for creating a healthy business development climate are working,” said Ed Burghard, executive director of the Ohio Business Development Coalition. “OhioInsite.com will ensure that Ohio is on every CEO’s list of location options.”
