Expansion Management Senior Research Editor Michael Keating recently won a FIRST PLACE award from the Ohio Society of Professional Journalists in the Best Investigative Reporting category for his annual research study and article, “2006 Healthcare Cost Quotient: Healthcare Expenses Are a Key Site Location Factor.” The article, which compares healthcare cost and availability throughout the U.S., was published in the February 2005 issue.
The Ohio SPJ honors the best of Ohio's print, radio, and television journalism as well as awards prizes to journalists who fulfill the SPJ mission: Defense of the First Amendment, support of literacy, resistance against censorship, advocacy of open access to public records and meetings, media self-criticism, and service by journalists to the less fortunate in their community. The program also awards $2,000 in scholarships for Best Student Journalists.
