Having a loved one deployed “in harm’s way” puts an added premium on having a strong support network of family and friends.
Shannon Herzik is a fourth grade teacher at Ira Cross, Jr. Elementary School in Killeen, Texas. Her husband, Brian, is deployed with the 1st Cavalry Division in Iraq. Like thousands of other military spouses, she tends to the responsibilities of home, while her soldier-husband faces unknown dangers every day in the defense of freedom and liberty.
