The U.S.’s leading provider of saving- and paying-for-college programs will hire call center, information technology (IT) and operations support positions in various metro areas across the country.
The company, which manages $180 billion in education loans and serves 10 million student- and parent-customers, currently has operations in 20 U.S. cities, including Lynn Haven, Fla.; Fishers, Ind.; Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; Killeen, Texas; and Newark, Del. It employs more than 8,000 workers.
“We contribute economically to the many communities where we operate our business,” said Albert L. Lord, CEO of Sallie Mae, also known as SLM Corp. “The current economic environment has caused our communities to struggle with job losses.
