“We believe that having an office in Boston will help us attract researchers who can contribute to the broad research portfolio pursued by Rand Health and our other research units, as well,” said James A. Thomson, president and CEO of Rand.
The new office, located in the Back Bay area of Boston, is adjacent to many of Rand Health’s existing and potential collaborative partners. The location is Rand’s sixth domestic office.
“Massachusetts has been a proving ground for innovations in insurance coverage expansion, delivery system improvement and investment in health information technology,” said Robert H. Brook, vice president and director of Rand Health. “We look forward to contributing to research that can accelerate broad adoption of such innovative practices.”
When many universities and companies are freezing or scaling back recruitment efforts, Rand Health is actively recruiting junior and senior level researchers in all of its offices.
“The health-related challenges of the 21st century increasingly demand the creativity of multidisciplinary teams of scientists,” said Eric Schneider, who will lead the new office. “I look forward to bringing together talented investigators to work on these challenges.”
