C.M. Steel Inc. is a steel manufacturer for commercial and industrial buildings. The company is expanding its manufacturing operations, along with the plans to relocate its corporate headquarters to York County. The company specializes in miscellaneous and structural steel fabrication with a strong reach throughout the Southeast.
“We are pleased to expand our presence in South Carolina and move our headquarters to York County,” said Chris Thompson, president of C.M. Steel. “The Palmetto State is just the right fit for our company and provides us with a positive business environment and a strong work force. We appreciate all the support we’ve received from state and local officials and look forward to continued success in South Carolina.”
The South Carolina Department of Commerce and the York County Economic Development Commission worked together to make the project a reality.
“The decision to invest in our state is a reminder that government does not create jobs, but can create the conditions that encourage or discourage job creation,” said Joe Taylor, secretary of Commerce for South Carolina. “C.M. Steel’s expansion is an encouraging indication that our business-friendly climate is working to attract new investment and grow existing businesses.”
