The three-level structure with 67,000 square feet of offices, conference rooms, culinary laboratories and test kitchens will allow the global frozen-meal maker to conduct detailed meal- and menu-development sessions with its highest-volume customers, including restaurants and hotels, medical, and educational institutions.
Nestle refers to the new structure as its professional customer innovation campus. It already has staffed 30 new positions in the facility, and, in time, the center will have a work force of 70, according to the company. The prepared food production and packaging plant employs more than 1,700 workers.
Nestle Foodservices is part of Nestle USA, which is a subsidiary of Switzerland-based Nestle S.A., the world's largest food company with worldwide sales of about $90 billion.
