RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. (June 17) — N.E.W. Customer Service Cos. (NEW), a provider of extended service plans and buyer protection programs for consumer products, announced it is bringing 250 new customer care jobs with the opening of a contact center here. The new center would field in-bound consumer calls for one of the company’s largest clients, Wal-Mart and its subsidiary Sam’s Club.

The announcement of NEW’s expansion into Arkansas is the result of partnerships between the Russellville Area Chamber of Commerce, Arkansas Economic Development Commission, Arkansas Valley Alliance for Economic Development, the city of Russellville, Arkansas Tech University and Arkansas Workforce Center.

The 30,000 square foot facility will be NEW’s ninth contact center to provide service for its 150 million customers. The contact center is set to open in early August.

“We are very excited that NEW has chosen our community as the home of their newest facility,” said Jeff Pipkin, director of the Arkansas Valley Alliance for Economic Development and president of the Russellville Area Chamber of Commerce. “After working with NEW officials during the past few months, I have gained tremendous respect for the company and its commitment to their employees and the communities they call home.”

Sterling, Va.-based NEW has more than 4,100 employees across the United States and has been serving customers and their products since 1983. The company has experienced consistent annual growth, which has created a need for expanded contact center operations.

The company considered more than 200 sites before deciding on Russellville.

“When entering a new market, we take several key factors into consideration including economic development, technology, infrastructure and, above all, the talent and work ethic of the community,” said Ray Zukowski, senior vice president of customer experience for NEW. “Russellville rose to the top because they met and exceeded our expectations in all of these areas. We are confident in Russellville’s ability to share in NEW’s commitment to high quality customer care and look forward becoming part of this community.”
