FMC Technologies, Inc., a global provider of technology solutions for the energy industry and other industrial markets, recently announced that its new Subsea Customer Support Center in Houston, Texas, is fully operational. The new facility, which supports FMC’s growing subsea business, is located adjacent to the company’s existing subsea facilities at Gears Road in northwest Houston.
FMC expects to realize a variety of benefits from its dedicated support center, including a reduction in turnaround time and the ability to deliver even more efficient and reliable customer service. The new facility also expands capacity to manufacture and service subsea trees.
The Subsea Customer Support Center includes approximately 55,000 square feet of equipment testing, mobilization, maintenance and refurbishment space, as well as high bay and gas test facilities. The complex will house dedicated project teams and a 24/7 rapid-response command center to support ongoing offshore installation, intervention, and decompletion services.
Construction on the facility began in July 2006 and was completed in the summer of 2007.
FMC Technologies employs approximately 11,000 people and operates 33 manufacturing facilities in 19 countries.
