Hitachi Transportation System America has signed a lease at Randall Crossings, Ryan Companies US, Inc.’s business park and industrial park in Elgin, Ill. The company has leased 72,408 square feet of space at 2700 Alft Lane, the first spec building at Randall Crossings.

Hitachi is a 3PL (third party logistics firm) with U.S. operations based in Torrance, Calif. The company has maintained a presence in the Chicago metro (Elk Grove Village) since 1992. In relocating, Hitachi is expanding its local operations to better serve its customers.

The building totals 319,043 square feet of space. It features full height exterior precast finish at 30’ clear height, 32-docks, 4-drive in doors and an ESFR sprinkler system.

Randall Crossings Business Park is located one-quarter mile from the full interchange at I-90 and Randall Road. With 70-acres of land the business park can accommodate users from 25,000 to 500,000 square feet. Ken Franzese and John Cassidy, principals with Lee & Associates, are marketing the business park on behalf of Ryan Companies.

“The property at Alft Lane is a state-of-the-art distribution facility allowing Hitachi to efficiently conduct its business,” said Franzese. “The numerous expansion opportunities, in the building or within Randall Crossing, created a great opportunity for Hitachi.”

Cassidy noted that activity in Elgin and, more specifically, within the park, has been strong.

“Users looking to lease 70,000 square feet to approximately 247,000 square feet have a great option in 2700 Alft Lane in Randall Crossings,” Cassidy said. “A further example of the building’s flexibility is the ability to use the space as a single load or cross-docked facility.”

Randall Crossings represents Ryan Companies third Chicago area business park: Randall Crossings Business Park in Elgin, Boldt Business Park in Romeoville, and Laraway Crossings Business Park in Joliet. Ryan completed its first business park, Territorial Business Center in Bolingbrook last year.
