The Clermont County Transportation Improvement District (TID) has been awarded a $500,000 Roadwork Development Grant to support construction activities that will aid in the attraction and expansion of business opportunities in the county. The grant, administered by the Ohio Department of Development, was approved by the State Controlling Board.
The County's TID was formed as a pilot with the participation of the Ohio Department of Transportation in managing roadwork projects located within the District. State assistance will be used to support the construction activities of the TID, which will identify specific projects to be constructed and determine the priority of roadwork projects.
The Clermont County Transportation Improvement District will act as an agent for the Ohio Department of Transportation in the following roadwork projects:
The Roadwork Development Account (629) provides grant assistance to communities for highway and road projects related to job creation and retention. The 629 Program is funded with gas tax dollars and is restricted to public road projects only.
