Aerial Machine and Tool Corp. will invest more than $600,000 to expand its production capacity in Patrick County, Va. The facility manufactures precision-sewn and machined products for the U.S. Departments of Defense and Homeland Security, as well as for other military contractors. The expansion and remodeling project will help facilitate Aerial’s current and future growth, which they expect will create 75 new jobs.
Aerial Machine and Tool was founded in Long Island, N.Y., in 1926. By 1940, Aerial had become a prime contractor for the U.S. Department of Defense, a distinction that it enjoys to this day. The company specializes in survival vests, parachute hardware and components, aircraft seat restraints, safety harnesses and other specialized equipment for search and rescue missions.
“We chose to expand at our current facility in Vesta due to the business-friendly climate, excellent workforce and the assistance we received from local and state agencies,” said John Marcaccio, president of Aerial Machine and Tool Corp. “The products that we make sometimes make the difference between life and death; and the quality and commitment of our employees make it easy for us to continue to reinvest in both our future and theirs.”
The Virginia Department of Business Assistance will provide training assistance through the Virginia Jobs Investment Program.
