Dick’s Sporting Goods is locating a new distribution center in East Point, Ga., representing an investment of $23 million. At full operating capacity, the company anticipates the center will employ up to 484 workers.
Dick’s new distribution center, which will serve the Southeastern U.S., will be located in a 657,200 square foot space at Duke Realty Corp.’s Camp Creek Business Center in East Point.
“We evaluated numerous sites throughout the region, and Camp Creek provided the most efficient distribution point for our expanding Southeastern operations,” said Lee Belitsky, senior vice president of distribution and transportation for Dick’s Sporting Goods. “We look forward to becoming a valued corporate citizen in East Point and the metro Atlanta community.”
Numerous agencies and corporations collaborated to assist on this project, including the Georgia Ports Authority, Quick Start, Georgia Department of Labor, Georgia Department of Community Affairs, Georgia Power, MEAG Power, Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, Development Authority of Fulton County, City of East Point, Duke Realty Corporation and The Staubach Company.
