dSPACE Inc. has moved its North American headquarters from Novi, Michigan, to a newly refurbished facility in Wixom, Mich. The company is a subsidiary of dSPACE GmbH in Germany, the worldwide leading provider of tools for embedded controller development and testing.
dSPACE purchased the two-story, 35,000 square foot building, formerly occupied by Durr Environmental, in January. Renovations have been ongoing at dSPACE’s new premises for the past six months.
In its new location, dSPACE Inc. has more than doubled its square footage, significantly expanding space for staff. The new facility also includes expanded laboratories for production and development, and features a dedicated garage for customer vehicle testing.
“We made the decision to relocate in order to provide additional room for growth," said Kevin Kott, president of dSPACE. “Our staff grew by 30 percent in 2006, and we expect this growth pattern to continue in the foreseeable future, based on strong demand for our products – both in the automotive and aerospace / defense sectors."
dSPACE’s new offices are located near the intersection of Wixom Road and Pontiac Trail in the City of Wixom (southwestern Oakland County), north of the I-96 interstate and approximately two miles from the recently closed Ford Wixom Assembly Plant.
dSPACE is a leading producer of engineering tools for the development, testing and optimization of real-time embedded controllers. Founded in 1988, dSPACE has its headquarters in Paderborn, Germany, as well as engineering project centers in Munich and Stuttgart, Germany. The company also has subsidiaries in North America (Wixom, Mich.), France, Japan and the United Kingdom.
