Palram Americas recently announced a $10.6 million expansion of its North American division has already generated 50 new manufacturing jobs in Lehigh County, Pa., and will create an additional 30 positions within the next two years.
Palram’s new 92,000 square foot facility in the Arcadia West Industrial Park will be used to manufacture PVC corrugated and foamed products for the industrial, commercial and residential sectors. The company will also manufacture a new product, Palight Trimboard, which will be used in the building industry as an alternative to wood.
“We’re pleased to boost economic development in the state of Pennsylvania and create jobs for the Lehigh Valley’s workforce,” said Michael Howser, general manager of Palram Americas “The rapid growth of our operations and aggressive product development is unprecedented in the industry.”
Palram secured a funding offer of more than $2 million through the state’s Department of Community and Economic Development. The company is eligible to apply for a loan of up to $1.68 million through the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority, a $160,000 Opportunity Grant, $36,000 in Customized Job Training funds and $160,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits. As part of its offer, Palram is also eligible to apply for Pennsylvania’s Research and Development Tax Credits.

With more than 40 years of expertise in the industry, the company has established manufacturing, distribution and sales operations across seven continents and 120 countries around the world. Palram markets its products to the commercial, industrial and residential building industries and do-it-yourself market.
