National Pipe and Plastics, one of the largest PVC pipe producers in North America, will invest $3 million in Broome County, N.Y. The company will retain 164 existing jobs and has pledged to create 50 new jobs. The company will invest in an adjacent property, as well as purchase new machinery and equipment, adding three new pipe product lines.
“National Pipe & Plastics is proud to be a part of Vestal, Greater Binghamton, Broome County and Upstate New York. This is an area that needs revitalization. It is also home to our employees,” state Dave Culbertson, president, National Pipe & Plastics, Inc. “They have inspired the success from which we are now able to generate new growth opportunities for the families surrounding us. Our company motto is “Do the right thing” and in this case it means working with our neighbors to develop our community.”
In recognition of its investment in New York, Empire State Development and National Pipe and Plastics, Inc. have agreed to a series of project milestones, through which the company will be eligible to apply for up to a $125,000 Capital grant for a portion of machinery and equipment costs. Under the agreement, National Pipe and Plastics, Inc. will receive the full amount upon reaching project targets set by Empire State Development.
