Kimaging, Inc., a well-established supplier to the motion picture industry in Los Angeles, recently announced the opening of its first satellite operation in Albuquerque, N.M. The company provides still photos shot during film production to be used for publicity.
Additionally, during post-production, Kimaging, Inc. creates interactive CD-ROM press kits, handles digital distribution, retouching, CD and DVD authoring, as well as printed materials. They are specialists in both digital and film, with more than 75 years combined experience.
The company is a supplier to the motion picture industry. They archive still photos shot during production of a motion picture to be used for publicity. The New Mexico Partnership started working with Kimaging in April of this year.
“We’ve have been losing ground to Canada for too long,” said Christopher Neeley, Kimaging’s general manager. “I believe the New Mexico incentives finally create the opportunity for hard working Americans to give subsidized Canadian production a run for its money.”
Over the years, Kimaging, Inc. has been involved with several New Mexico film productions, including The Longest Yard, 310 To Yuma and The Eye. A state-arranged tour by the New Mexico Economic Development Partnership prompted the company to establish a new location in New Mexico. The Partnership has worked with officials from Kimaging, Inc. since April.
“New Mexico has everything you need in the way of climate, locations, state-of-the-art sound stages and skilled labor to stay busy year round,” said Neeley. “Combined with the states incentives, it became apparent to us that not expanding into New Mexico was bad business.”
