Kimberly-Clark selected KC for its new distribution center, creating 60 jobs. The company will lease the newly constructed 450,000 square foot facility on a 40-acre site from national developer First Industrial Realty Trust, Inc.
The Johnson County Commissioners approved the project in April 2007. With ground work underway, New Century AirCenter and Kimberly-Clark expect to open the building in November.
“Like most distribution center projects of this size the time frame to deliver the building is very tight, if it wasn’t for the cooperation & can-do attitude of all the KCADC Partners this deal would have been difficult to pull together so quickly,” said Mark Sonnenberg, senior vice president for Colliers Turley Martin Tucker, which represented Kimberly-Clark locally. “It’s this type of winning attitude that is going to continue to help our community win more these major deals.”
Kimberly-Clark is a leading global health and hygiene company employing more than 55,000 people worldwide and posting sales of $16.7 billion in 2006. Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, with operations in 37 countries, Kimberly-Clark’s global brands are sold in more than 150 countries.
