Homes & Son Contractors, Inc. will break ground, June 12th at 2:00pm for Schwan’s Consumer Brands, N.A. Inc. John Krueger, Vice President of Business Development for Greater Phoenix Economic Council, says, “Schwan’s will contribute to the West Valley distribution economic vitality along with PetSmart, Target, Albertson’s, and AutoZone among many others.” The new location at 890 N. 71st Avenue will be the employment center for over 40 employees.

Schwan’s Consumer Brands, N.A. Inc. recently broke ground on a 20,687 square foot distribution and sales center in Phoenix, Ariz., for 14 Consumer Brands delivery trucks. HGA Architects and Engineers of Minneapolis, Minn., is the project architect. The Schwan’s Consumer Brands facility is expected to open March 2008 and will replace the 18-year old depot located in Peoria.

Schwan’s Consumer Brands North America, Inc., a business of The Schwan Food Co., has marketed and distributed premium frozen foods since 1970. Its brands include Red Baron, Freschetta, and Tony’s pizzas, Mrs. Smith’s and Edwards desserts, Asian Sensations snacks and appetizers, and Larry’s potatoes.

The Schwan Food Co. is a privately held, multibillion-dollar business that manufactures and markets fine frozen foods through home delivery, retail grocery and foodservice channels. Headquartered in Marshall, Minn., for more than 50 years, Schwan employs about 22,000 people in the United States, Europe and Canada.
