Koll Development Co., a leading commercial real estate firm, recently broke ground on an expansion to the corporate headquarters for Denbury Resources, Inc., an independent oil and gas company. The new 100,000 square foot, build-to-suit corporate office building will be developed adjacent to the current headquarters facility in Plano, Texas, and located at the corner of Tennyson and Windcrest in the Legacy Business Park.
“This is an exciting opportunity for us to develop a great corporate headquarters in the Legacy business community,” said Steve Van Amburgh, CEO of KDC. “Our team certainly takes pride in all of our projects, yet we realize the significance of a corporate headquarters and understand that it helps set the tone for an entire company. Expanding the current campus was a logical choice, and the new building will complement the existing headquarters.”
The project will include a three-story building and a parking structure. Approximately 350 employees will eventually be housed in the new facility. The building shell is slated for completion in December 2007 with move-in set for the second quarter of 2008.
“We were very impressed with KDC’s build-to-suit experience and their sensitivities to our specific needs,” said Gareth Roberts, president and CEO of Denbury Resources. “Our confidence in KDC is based on their excellent record for not only delivering quality projects, but their expertise for corporate headquarters and office development. This is a very exciting time for our company, and we look forward to sharing our new facility with our employees, clients and business partners.”
Gensler Architects has been selected as the architect for the project and Furstenwerth Bagley Design will serve as the interior design architect. Riis Christensen with Transwestern and Jeff Ellerman with The Staubach Company represented Denbury Resources in the transaction.
