Petrom has announced that it will open an operation center in the Caspian Region, in order to spearhead OMVs development in the area, according to the company.
“Petrom will have a second operation center in the Caspian area, primarily in Kazakhstan and Russia, in order to expand main operations in the area, in line with the group’s strategy to promote Petrom as the operation hub in Southeast Europe,” said Mariana Gheorghe, executive manager of Petrom.
She said the company planned to open an office in Turkmenistan this year, and that it was also interested in entering the Azerbaijan market. Petrom remains interested in exploration and development operations at the Black Sea and Bulgaria, as well, Gheorghe added.
Petrom, owned by Austria-based OMV, is the largest Romanian oil and gas group, with activities in the business segments of exploration and production, refining, petrochemicals, and marketing.
