Mauer USA, LLC, an international plastic injection molding manufacturer, recently announced plans to open its first U.S. facility in Boone County, Kentucky in the Greater Cincinnati Metropolitan Area. Mauer USA has operations in Germany and Poland. This project represents an investment of $10.8 million and will create a total of 100 new jobs.
Mauer USA plans to manufacture injection molded caps and closures for the U.S. packaging industry. The company plans to build a 40,000 square foot facility on 14 acres on Arbor Tech Drive in the Riverview Business Park located in unincorporated Boone County and will also purchase new equipment and building fixtures.
"We chose Kentucky and, in particular Boone County, because of the business friendly environment, being near an international airport, the skill levels of the potential workforce and the overall quality of life," said Klaus Mauer, President and CEO of Mauer AG and Mauer USA. "We greatly appreciate the professional assistance and advice received from the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development and the Tri-County Economic Development Corporation. Additionally, the willingness of those working with us to continue assisting a company once they have located is of great importance to me."
The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority approved Mauer USA for tax credit incentives up to $1,556,274 under the Kentucky Industrial Development Act, an incentive program designed to attract and expand manufacturing operations in the state.
