Michigan-based Saginaw Control and Engineering will build a 33,000 square foot distribution center in the Roane Regional Business and Technology Park in Roane County, Tennessee. The park, located alongside I-40, is part of a growing network of industrial and mixed use business parks throughout the 16-county Knoxville-Oak Ridge Innovation Valley.
Four companies already operating in the 655–acre park include H.T. Hackney Co., Protean Instruments Corp., Dinenamic Tooling Systems and Pegasus Technologies. Two other businesses – Crete Carrier Corp., and Diesel Engine Parts – have announced plans to build there. About 450 acres are still available in the park, according to Leslie Henderson, President and CEO of the Roane Alliance.
Construction of the new Saginaw facility is expected to begin immediately and be completed by late summer or early fall.
The company was founded in Saginaw, Michigan in 1963 and specializes in manufacturing both stock and custom-designed enclosures and in precision sheet metal fabrications. Saginaw’s primary customers are the automotive, material handling, food packaging and electronic industries. The company’s products include everything from small junction boxes to large enclosures that house electrical controls.
