L.A. Darling Co., one of North America’s largest manufacturers of retail merchandising systems and fixtures, will open a facility in Rock Hill, S.C., to refurbish used metal fixtures for retailers in the Eastern U.S. The company will employ about 50 people in a leased 181,500 square foot facility in Rock Hill.
The Rock Hill plant is part of the company’s Specialty Metal Division and its first facility dedicated to fixture refurbishment.
The South Carolina Department of Commerce, the York County Economic Development Group and the Center for Accelerated Training Technology at York Technical College worked together to bring L.A. Darling to Rock Hill.
Founded in 1897, L.A. Darling employs approximately 1,000 associates and operates manufacturing plants in Paragould, Corning and Piggott, Ark., as well as service operations in Bentonville, Ark., and Sun Prairie, Wis.
L.A. Darling is a Marmon Retail Services (MRS) company. MRS comprises companies that provide store fixtures, shopping carts, food-service equipment, and installation and logistical services to retailers worldwide from operations in North America, Europe and Asia.
