ACO Distribution & Warehousing Inc. has acquired the former Velcorex property in Orangeburg, S.C., to construct its new facility. The company will invest more than $3.7 million to expand the existing facility and plans to create 14 new jobs in Orangeburg County.
“We are really proud to be here in Orangeburg County. Orangeburg is a great location in the Global Logistics Market,” said Randy Arnold, vice president, operations, for ACO Distribution & Warehousing. “Our location is just one hour to the port and four interstate highways are within 45 minutes of our location. Rail, distribution, and warehousing services with excellent access to markets is what we offer out of this new facility.”
ACO will provide general warehousing and storage services by operating a distribution warehouse and provide space and labor for businesses. The company will perform repackaging and ship goods by rail or motor freight.
The ACO Distribution & Warehousing Center will be located on the former Velcorex property, a 388,000 square foot building built in 1969. ACO Distribution & Warehousing plans to expand the building, extend existing rail track, and construct an unloading dock with a building enclosure of approximately 15,400 square feet.
