Telerx Marketing Inc. plans to invest $8.8 million and create more than 310 jobs over the next three years when it opens a customer service center in Cleveland County. The state of North Carolina will support the project with a $450,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.
Telerx, which is based in Horsham, Penn., currently operates facilities in Pennsylvania, Texas and British Columbia. The majority of the jobs at the new center in North Carolina will be for customer service representatives. The company, which began in 1980, provides support for leading Fortune 500 corporations, including email, telephone and Internet-based services. The company's focus on complex, customer-care services and its comprehensive offerings have resulted in ongoing growth and development.
We are very impressed with the service orientation and work ethic of the people of North Carolina and the spirit of cooperation and community support within the State, Cleveland County, Gardner-Webb University and Cleveland Community College," said Norm Bresmann, vice president of Telerx.
The One North Carolina Fund assists the state in industry recruitment and expansion by providing grants to attract business projects that will stimulate economic activity and create jobs in the state. One NC Fund grants require local matching funds, and this grant is contingent upon approval of a grant by the Cleveland County Board of Commissioners.
