Perot Systems Corp. recently announced a new consolidated data center in Florence, Ky. Perot Systems’ data center in Florence will occupy 24,000 square feet of space, which will include 20,000 square feet of raised access flooring. The center will have fully redundant UPS systems, backup generators and the ability to support the latest new server technology. It will be modular and expandable.
“We are very proud to expand our Kentucky presence and locate a new premier data center in Florence for many reasons, including the region’s growing support of the technology industry and rich talent pool of career professionals in the area,” said Mike McClaskey, Perot Systems vice president, CIO and head of the company’s global infrastructure solution organization. “Our Florence data center will enable us to not only provide top quality services to Catholic Healthcare Partners in Cincinnati, but also serve as a critical part of Perot Systems’ worldwide backbone network connecting this center to our other premier data centers.”
Perot Systems received approval for up to $500,000 in tax incentives under the Kentucky Jobs Development Act by the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority on September 28, 2006.
Perot Systems will join two local Fortune 500 companies with data center operations in Northern Kentucky. Cincinnati Bell Technology Solutions supports those locations and will provide its expertise to Perot Systems as well.
