Nemcomed, Inc. recently opened a new manufacturing, engineering and research & development facility this afternoon in Fort Wayne. The facility complements Nemcomed’s existing campus in Hicksville, Ohio.

The 34,000 square foot Fort Wayne structure was built on approximately six acres of land in the North Clinton Business Park adjacent to Interstate 69 (just south of the intersection of North Clinton Street and Wallen Road).

Company plans call for an additional 20,000 square feet to be constructed in 2009, with further expansion possible beyond 2009. Nemcomed designs and manufactures medical devices from orthopedic implants and instruments to a full line of splints and bracing.

“Nemcomed is proud to bring this new building on line following months of study, planning and construction,” said Kevin Countryman, CEO of Countryman. “The new facility houses general and specialized machining equipment, engineering support, R&D, sales and marketing, and a new development company exploring other growth areas for our organization,” he added.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation, the City of Fort Wayne and the Fort Wayne-Allen County Economic Development Alliance worked together to provide an incentive package that helped bring this project to Indiana.
