Volvo Aero-Craft Breaks Ground to Expand its Connecticut Manufacturing Plant

NEWINGTON, Conn. (November 13, 2006) — At completion, the floor space of the current premises of 40,000 square foot will be expanded by an additional 27,000 square feet.

Volvo Aero-Craft recently broke ground on its manufacturing plant expansion in Newington, Conn., just outside Hartford. The expansion of Aero-Craft is scheduled to be completed in summer 2007. At completion, the floor space of the current premises of 40,000 square foot will be expanded by an additional 27,000 square feet.

Plans call for a future increase in 40 employees, from the current 52.

Aero-Craft produces components for commercial and military aircraft engines, including fan cases, the largest components that house the front section of the aircraft engine. Volvo Aero acquired the company in December 2004.
