Redeem plc of Scotland has selected Atlanta, Ga., for its new U.S. headquarters. The company, operating in the United States as Recycling Appeal USA, expects to create more than 100 jobs over the next three years. United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta will be its first non-profit partner.
Redeem plc is an international leader in the recovery, reuse and recycling of used printer cartridges and mobile phones. The company has entered into an agreement with United Way of Metro Atlanta to serve as a partner for the collection and fundraising activities associated with used cartridges and mobile phones. United Way will receive the majority of the proceeds from Redeem plc's sale of the charity's recycled cartridges and mobile phones.
"We are delighted to be launching our U.S. operations in Georgia," said Redeem CEO Jamie Rae. "While Redeem has had presence in the United States for some time, the opening of our new headquarters in Atlanta signifies our commitment to establishing Recycling Appeal USA in America. With United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta as our first charity partner, we are confident we will get an excellent response and raise public awareness of the importance of recycling cell phones and print cartridges and raising funds."
The company will occupy 12,000 square feet of leased space at 5600 Oakbrook Parkway in Norcross, and expects to begin operations October 16.
Through end-user and brokerage collection programs, Redeem supplies quality assured cartridges and mobile/cell phones to customers throughout the world. The company is accredited with ISO 14001, 9001, EMAS and Investors in People
