Williams Medical Supplies, the UK’s largest distributor of medical products to the primary care sector, has moved into new offices on the back of rapid expansion. The company has moved into 2 million pound, purpose-built offices here.

The new offices are on Maerdy Industrial Estate, next to the company’s 73,000 square foot warehouse, which created 45 extra jobs when it was bought in 2004.

The new offices have been partly funded by a six-figure regional selective assistance grant from the Welsh Assembly Government.

The company’s commitment to its South Wales headquarters sees the firm centralizing its telesales facility, said Vince Kerr, managing director of Williams Medical Supplies. Seventeen employees will be added to the current work force.

Williams Medical Supplies distributes medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, contraceptives and medical consumables to general practice and clinics.

“We operate throughout the UK, but our headquarters is located in Rhymney and we are deeply committed to remaining here,” said Vince Kerr, managing director. “The jobs we provide cover a broad base, and we recruit many high-caliber staff members from the region.”
