Wisconsin officials recently announced a $300,000 Blight Elimination and Brownfields Redevelopment (BEBR) grant from the Department of Commerce to assist Advanced Fiberglass Technologies, Inc. with its expansion plans.
Advanced Fiberglass Technologies, Inc. manufactures quality reinforced plastic equipment to a variety of industries, including both standard and custom applications. The company plans to construct and equip a new facility. The community will use the grant to acquire the site for this and other development. The project will create 20 jobs over three years and represents $5,375,000 in a total public and private investment.
Commerce's BEBR Program provides grant funds to municipalities, local development corporations, and the private sector to support assessment, remediation and return of contaminated lands to productive use. Brownfields are abandoned, idle, or underused industrial or commercial properties where redevelopment is hindered by real or perceived contamination.
