PCS Technologies, a manufacturer and distributor of advanced information and entertainment systems for the mass transit industry, plans to invest over $80,000 in the construction an environmental stress screening chamber. This chamber will allow PCS Technologies to provide high quality performance evaluation in extreme high and low temperatures. The project is expected to retain the 14 existing positions at the company’s Plattsburgh, N.Y., facility.
PCS Technologies manufactures and distributes electronic mass communication products that are installed in buses, trains and subway cars throughout North America and beyond. The company came to the Plattsburgh area in 1995 as a supplier to Bombardier Transit division. PCS's parent company, Axion Technologies, has numerous other locations in Canada and Europe.
In consideration of its commitment to New York State, PCS Technologies is eligible to apply to Empire State Development for a $30,000 Capital Grant to be used to offset costs associated with the purchase, installation and set-up of the environmental testing unit and also to train existing employees.
