Target to Build 1.6 Million Square Foot Distribution Facility in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania

LEWISBURG, Pa. (August 31, 2006) — The Union County Industrial Development Corp. worked with Target and the Governor’s Action Team to secure a $2.25 million funding offer from the Department of Community and Economic Development for the project.

Target Corp. is planning to hire 500 new employees over five years once the construction of a new, 1.6-million square foot distribution center in Union County, Pa., is completed.

Target intends to construct its new distribution center on 166 acres in Great Stream Commons in Gregg Township, north of Lewisburg. The two-year construction phase is expected to begin in 2007.

The Union County Industrial Development Corp. worked with Target and the Governor’s Action Team to secure a $2.25 million funding offer from the Department of Community and Economic Development for the project.

Target currently has 30 distribution centers in 21 states and 1,444 stores in 47 states.
