Hoerbiger Automotive Comfort Systems to Expand Facility in Auburn, Alabama

AUBURN, Ala. (August 30, 2006) — The current expansion calls for an additional 60 jobs and a capital investment of several millions, bringing the total employment to 120 people.

Hoerbiger Automotive Comfort Systems is expanding its production capacity at its Auburn, Ala., location in Auburn’s Technology Park South. Hoerbiger provides hydraulic systems to the automotive industry and is expanding its operations to accommodate the series production of several new vehicles produced by U.S. car manufacturers. The current expansion calls for an additional 60 jobs and a capital investment of several millions, bringing the total employment to 120 people.

“The success of our sales and engineering team in Germany and Michigan as well as the excellent work by our employees at our production facility in Auburn allowed for this successful growth, including the realization of the single largest contract won by Hoerbiger Automotive Comfort Systems in the history of our company,” stated Gerhard Schoell, vice president for operations for Hoerbiger.

Hoerbiger is active throughout the world as a leading player in the fields of compression technology, automation technology and drive technology. In 2005, its 4,700 employees achieved sales of around 650 million euros. The focal points of its business activities include key components and services for reciprocating compressors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems for vehicles and machine tools, as well as components and systems for shift and clutch operations in vehicle drivelines of all kinds.
