WHECO Corp., a structural crane repair and restoration services company, is opening a crane service center in Aiken, S.C., to meet demand for services in the Eastern United States. The facility represents $2.5 million investment and will employ 25 people.

“While we are well-known nationally, we saw a need in the market for a full-service facility on the East Coast,” said Ron Williams, WHECO chairman and CEO. “We are fortunate that Aiken County provides the ideal site location for our specific operation needs, and we are grateful for the efforts of South Carolina officials to ease our location to the state.”

The company will be located on a 30-acre site, with a 43,000 square foot facility that will accommodate WHECO’s two 30-ton overhead cranes and turnkey crane repair capabilities. The new facility will house a full fabrication and hydraulic service center, as well as a full-service machine shop and multiple service bays specializing in turnkey accident restoration.

Aiken County provides a convenient rail spur that runs directly into the new facility, so clients can take advantage of a cost-effective transportation solution for machines and related components.

The company is currently recruiting certified experienced welders and crane mechanics with hydraulic and electronic experience. Interested applicants can contact the Aiken Employment Securities Commission One-Stop Career Center at (803) 641-7640.
