Mancor Industries, a Canadian manufacturer with two plants in Oakville Ontario, and additional plants in Pennsylvania, Ohio and South Carolina, finalized the purchase of the former American Way building in Anderson, Ind.
The company intends to hire 80 people by 2009. They will begin accepting applications in September and have targeted October to begin production in Anderson.
“Mancor Industries, with corporate headquarters in Oakville, Ontario, is a tier 1 contract component and sub-assembly supplier to the mid-volume, heavy equipment industry that uses metal cutting, forming, machining, welding, assembly and paint,” said Craig Sloan, vice president and general manager of Mancor PA, Inc. “Mancor uses state-of-the-art machining and fabrication techniques in a lean, self-directed work team environment to produce high value-added, cost-effective products for our customers.”
“We looked very carefully at Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana to locate a new plant,” said Sloan. “The location of the American Way facility, the State of Indiana, the community of Anderson, and especially the Economic Development team of Anderson made that decision very easy.”
The American Way building was originally constructed in 1996 for Delco Remy America. The building size is 117,379 square feet on 11 acres.
