The Dial Corp., a company of Henkel KGaA, headquartered in Düsseldorf, Germany, has signed an agreement with One Scottsdale Office LLC, to acquire land for its new Headquarters and Research and Development facilities. The building site is situated northeast of Scottsdale Road and the 101 Freeway and is part of the new One Scottsdale project being developed by DMB Associates. It is expected that the closing will occur in the next 60-75 days.
“We are excited about coming to an agreement to stay in Scottsdale and becoming part of the One Scottsdale project, said Brad Casper, Dial President and CEO. “We considered several sites for our new Headquarters building and decided that the One Scottsdale location best meets our needs. The site is attractive to us for many reasons and will be a pleasant working environment for our people. Its central location will ensure that Dial employees will have easy access to the Valley’s freeway system and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. We look forward to continuing to be part of the Scottsdale business community.”
One Scottsdale, being developed by DMB Associates, will include up to 1.2 million square feet of Class A office space, 600,000 square feet of retail space, 400 resort class boutique hotel rooms, 1,100 mixed-use residential and urban-estate home sites. “We value the confidence Dial has placed in One Scottsdale and DMB, and we’re pleased we could contribute to Dial’s decision to stay in Scottsdale,” said Drew Brown, CEO and managing partner of DMB Associates. “Dial’s new headquarters will serve as a catalyst for attracting other major corporations and businesses, and that is something we all should value.”
John Wyss, Managing Principal of The Staubach Company in Phoenix said of the 12-month site selection process “the site selection criteria were very specific and we are pleased that metro Phoenix had two great sites for Dial to choose from. We feel that the One Scottsdale site best fit those criteria and are pleased that it will continue to foster the joint success of Dial and the City of Scottsdale.”
In addition to site selection services, The Staubach Co. will also provide design construction consulting services for the approximately 350,000 square foot headquarters and R&D facility. Chris Carrell and Lee Hanson of Staubach’s DCCS group will provide those services.
