Famous Craft Boats recently held a groundbreaking at its planned 50,000 square foot manufacturing facility in the Airport Business Park in Anderson, S.C. The company announced its plans to invest $11 million and create 50 new jobs.
Famous Craft Boats is a family-owned company that designs and builds fishing flats boats to cruise and fish the shallow waters of bays and inlets. Founded in 1945 in Indiana by Lossie Rinker, the company is now run by his granddaughter, Lea Rinker. The company also makes family cruisers up to 31 feet and has plans to add models that range up 39 feet next year.
“The South Carolina team we worked with, from the local Anderson officials to the S.C. Department of Commerce and our builder, were outstanding and really made us feel welcome,” said Tim Costello, Famous Craft Boats’ Vice President. “The quality of life in South Carolina was very attractive to us as was the strong work force available in Anderson County.”
