Justrite Manufacturing, LLC, a major Mattoon, Ill., manufacturer of storage, handling and security products, was awarded almost $1 million in Opportunity Returns funds that will allow the company to construct a new facility that is expected to create 35 new jobs and retain 18 more jobs.

The new 75,000 square foot warehouse, which is expected to open this summer, will allow Justrite to enhance its production and logistics capabilities. As one of the area’s largest employers, Justrite currently employs nearly 200 full-time jobs at its Mattoon facility. The company’s storage, handling and security products include fire prevention safety equipment for hazardous materials, environmental protection spill containment devices and specialized storage products.

Founded in Chicago in 1906, and located in Mattoon since 1973, Justrite Manufacturing has become a leading manufacturer of safety products used in the industrial and laboratory markets.
