Viracon to Build $25 Million Facility in St. George, Utah

ST. GEORGE, Utah (May 26, 2006) — When fully operational, the facility will employ between 250-300 employees.

Viracon, a leading architectural glass fabricator, recently began construction of its new St. George, Utah, facility. The $25 million facility will increase Viracon’s glass fabrication capacity by approximately $40 million at full capacity.

The facility will open in April 2007, with approximately 150 employees. When fully operational, (within three years) the facility will employ between 250-300 employees.

Viracon’s third and newest plant will be a comprehensive, full-fabrication facility, complete with two insulating glass lines, as well as tempering, laminating, coating and silk-screening production lines.

Viracon, based in Owatonna, Minn., with a second plant in Statesboro, Ga., is an international company of Apogee Enterprises, Inc. Viracon produces high-performance glass products, including tempered, laminated, insulating, silk-screened and high-performance coatings.
