MachineryLink, Inc., an agricultural equipment leasing company, announced that it is establishing a new service center for its fleet of combines and other equipment in North Sioux City, S.D. The service center will be located at the former Gateway Computer distribution center at Gateway Industrial Park.
The company expects to begin operations in August and will eventually hire 100 employees throughout the next three years, including 10 management positions, 10 supervisory roles, 15 machine technicians, and 65 product and customer support personnel.
Formed in 2000, MachineryLink has the largest private fleet of combines in North America, which are used by a growing number of grain farmers to harvest their crops. The North Sioux City facility will be used to store, clean and service combines before and during the harvest season, as well as center for field service, sales and training support, and remarketing of used equipment. The company expects to begin operations in August.
Mike Plunkett, senior vice president of operations for MachineryLink, said the size of the facility and its strategic location near Interstate 29 in North Sioux City make it ideal in servicing and transporting the company’s equipment across its entire 33-state network, as well as serving farmer-customers in the four-state region.
“The tremendous people and transportation resources that the North Sioux City area provides certainly make it attractive for us to establish a service center here,” said Plunkett. “With convenient access to several interstates and railroad terminals, close proximity to parts and technical service from dealers, and a large customer base in the area, we are anxious to be part of the community.”
MachineryLink, Inc., based in Kansas City, Mo., is a major provider of equipment leasing programs to agricultural producers and dealers in North America.
