Reinhart FoodService Opens 275,000 Square Foot Distribution Center in Pennsylvania

COAL TOWNSHIP, Pa. (April 10, 2006) — The company received a $100,000 Opportunity Grant, $150,000 in Job Training Assistance, $1.25 million Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority loan, and a $500,000 loan through the Machinery and Equipment Loan Fund.

Reinhart FoodService Inc. recently opened a new distribution center in Coal Township, Pa. Today, the Governor joined in celebrating the opening of the new 275,000 square foot facility that will eventually create 109 new jobs and retain 314 positions.

In February 2004, the state of Pennsylvania committed $2 million to help Reinhart FoodService construct its new distribution center in the Coal Township Industrial Park. The funding package, arranged by the Governor’s Action Team, included a $100,000 Opportunity Grant, $150,000 in Job Training Assistance, $1.25 million Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority loan, and a $500,000 loan through the Machinery and Equipment Loan Fund.

In addition to the funds awarded through GAT, the commonwealth also offered:

• $2.2 million in Infrastructure Development Program grants to the Coal Township Commissioners for infrastructure improvements related to the development of the Coal Township Industrial Park;

• $5,651,660 Business in Our Sites loan to SEEDCO Industrial LLC to assist with the development of the Coal Township Industrial Park. SEEDCO plans to create more than 4,000 new jobs at the industrial park and attract at least $93 million in private investment; and,

• $1 million in Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) funds for SEEDCO Industrial to develop the Coal Township Industrial Park.

The Governor’s Action Team is comprised of economic-development professionals who report directly to Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell and serves as a single point of contact for businesses that are interested in locating or expanding in Pennsylvania.
