Genencor recently received an award of $750,000 from Iowa Department of Economic Development to consolidate facilities and bring new product lines to Cedar Rapids, making the community the location for its prime large scale manufacturing operation for North America.

“Genencor has always had a partner with the community of Cedar Rapids and the state of Iowa,” said Frans Van Londersele, plant manager. “We are pleased to expand our operations in such a supportive environment.”

“The Iowa Values Fund has been an asset to communities all around Iowa. The IDED Board is proud of the role we’re able to play in that success not only in Cedar Rapids, but around the state,” said Marcia Rogers, IDED Board member and president of Management Resource Group.

The project will create 17 new jobs and retain 80 jobs and result in a capital investment of $35 million.

Since the Iowa Values Fund was first legislated, over 366 projects have been assisted in 83 of Iowa’s 99 counties, resulting in $4 billion capital investment. The average wage for the jobs exceeds $39,000, which is well above the state’s average wage.
