Automatic Data Processing, Inc. (ADP), one of the world’s largest providers of payroll and tax filing services, will open a new facility in El Paso, ultimately creating more than 1,000 new high-paying jobs. A $3 million grant from the Texas Enterprise Fund helped lure the ADP expansion to El Paso, along with the region’s highly-skilled, bi-lingual work force and excellent quality of life.
ADP's Solution Center will provide business-to-business support as the company focuses on inbound calls to assist clients using ADP’s payroll related applications as well as ADP’s automotive dealer related products and services.
"We are pleased to be expanding our presence in the State of Texas with the opening of a new Solutions Center in El Paso," commented Gary C. Butler, president and chief operating officer of Automatic Data Processing, Inc. "As an industry leader, we are able to offer our ADP associates a comprehensive benefits package, ongoing training and professional development, providing the opportunity for personal and career growth."
According to Steve Penrose, an ADP senior vice president, "A key factor in selecting El Paso is its strong system of education that is producing many highly-qualified, bi-lingual candidates. We were also attracted by the excellent climate, Mountain Time zone and the area's potential to provide our associates an excellent quality of life."
The company will initially hire 300 workers in El Paso beginning in April and ultimately will create 1,000 new jobs. ADP employs more than 30,000 in the United States.
Texas is also providing $900,000 in workforce development funds to ensure that local workers have the skills they need, such as client management and communication abilities, strong computer skills and accounting backgrounds, to succeed at ADP.
The Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) was created in 2003 with $295 million to allow the state to provide grants to help “close deals” and bring jobs and employers to Texas. The TEF was reauthorized in 2005, and allocated an additional $180 million. Since its inception, the TEF has directly led to more than 130,000 new jobs for Texans.
ADP, with $8.5 billion in revenues, serves approximately 590,000 clients worldwide with a broad range of transaction processing and information-based business solutions.
