C&S Wholesale Grocers Inc. will create at least 400 new jobs within three years by establishing distribution operations in Lower Nazareth Township. The company, which is leasing a 621,000 square foot facility and has the option to lease an additional 388,000-square-foot building, will begin operations at the end of this month.
C&S Wholesale Grocers provides wholesale food distribution to grocery chains and large, independent food stores throughout the U.S.
The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development and GAT offered the company a $1.85 million funding package that includes an $875,000 Opportunity Grant, $180,000 in Job Training Assistance (JTA) funds and $800,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits (JCTC). The total cost of the project will be $13.5 million.
