Volt Technical Resources is relocating a portion of their back office support, as well as some of their key contingent and direct placement recruitment functions, to the Spokane area from Western Washington.
This expansion will add between 14 to 20 new jobs to the Spokane area, and Volt will be expanding into 4,200 feet of new office space. The members of the back office support team will be primarily supporting Volt’s enterprise-level national contracts, while the recruitment teams will service both local and regional accounts within the IT and Engineering subject matter space.
Volt looked at numerous markets as expansion options, but was impressed with the significant savings in cost, lease space options, and the availability of talent in the area that the company found in the Spokane region.
“The cost savings were substantial and will really affect our bottom line,” said Gina Giacomino, Area Manager for Volt Technical Resources. “Lifestyle also played a huge factor in our decision to expand. Our employees will be able to afford a very nice home for the first time in their lives, and come to work with virtually no commute time whatsoever – living a very balanced lifestyle.”
The Spokane Area EDC provided an in-depth cost analysis on wages, workforce, real estate, and tax structure, as well as providing business-to-business connections for the company.
“The EDC really opened our eyes to the Spokane marketplace. They provided us with a true cost comparison, and showed us the advantages of doing business in this region. Now, we’ve made the decision to move some of our operations to the Spokane area,” said Giacomino.
