EGL Eagle Global Logistics, a leading global heavy-weight freight transportation and logistics company, has opened an Aerospace & Defense supply chain management center at AllianceTexas to handle parts and equipment for Lockheed Martin’s Fort Worth production facility, Bell Helicopter and other aerospace & defense contractors. EGL has leased property from Hillwood in the Commerce Center 2 building at 15001 Peterson Court. Operations at the new facility began in January 2006.
“AllianceTexas provides EGL with a strategic location near Lockheed Martin to better handle their long-term supply chain efforts,” said Mike Stephens, Director of Strategic Projects for EGL Eagle Global Logistics. “This facility will serve as a core entity to EGL’s business with Lockheed Martin, to whom we have provided logistics services for more than 20 years and to other aerospace and defense firms in various capacities.”
An on-site Customs Examination Station and the only Foreign Trade Zone in North Texas with immediate access to air, rail and highway make AllianceTexas an attractive location for freight-forwarders and third-party logistics providers.
