Marquette Transportation Co., Inc. and the Greater Paducah Economic Development Council announce the relocation and expansion of Marquette Transportation’s headquarters operation to Paducah’s Information Age Park.
Marquette Transportation will construct a new 24,000 square foot headquarters facility and adjacent warehouse operation in Information Age Park at an investment of over $2 million. Marquette will relocate its existing work force of 40 employees and hire an additional 12 new employees at an average salary of $50,000 per year, including a competitive benefits package.
The City of Paducah and McCracken County will provide $60,000 in incentives to assist with defraying the cost of facility construction to meet Information Age Park’s covenant requirements.
President and CEO John Eckstein emphasized the high level of cooperation among the City, County and the Greater Paducah Economic Development Council remarking that "Marquette is very pleased to be relocating to the Information Age Park. Without the combined efforts of the GPEDC and City and County officials, our relocation to the Park would not have been possible".
Marquette Transportation’s announcement continues to reinforce the importance of Paducah/McCracken County’s existing river companies to the local economy.
